Solemn Eucharistic Devotions: This Weekend: July 19-21
There is so much being offered by Saint Noel throughout the remainder of July! First, in solidarity with the tens of thousands attending the tenth Eucharistic Congress in Indiana this weekend, we are hosting Solemn Eucharistic Devotions, which begins Friday evening, July 19, at 8 pm and ends Sunday afternoon, July 21, at 3 pm, with a closing celebration. In between Masses, Adoration will take place in the church around the clock, with the Liturgy of Hours prayed communally at designated times. (See the schedule to the left.) At the time the hours are prayed, fellow parishioners have been invited to offer a short reflection on the meaning of the Eucharist in their lives. Come support them in their witness. This will prove to be a beautiful opportunity to deepen our love for the Lord present in the Eucharist, and grow in our love for one another as a parish family. Many have made commitments to be present before the Blessed Sacrament throughout these forty hours; however, please know that all are welcome to stop in to “watch and pray” for as long as is desired. Encourage others to join you! Resources to help accompany your prayer will be available, including Bishop Robert Barron’s “This Is My Body: A Call to Eucharistic Revival”. Copies were ordered for each of your households, so please take one with you. Other resources can be borrowed and returned during our shared time. Additionally, prayer intention cards will be available. Take a moment to jot down the names of loved ones and intentions for which you wish to be prayed. At Mass and during the Liturgy of the Hours, they will be lifted up in prayer—and not just by us, but joined by the whole world and in every language, as the hours are prayed.
Anointing of the Sick: Next Weekend: July 27-28
Honoring the Holy Father’s monthly intention for July, and in accord with the many references of Christ's healing in the Gospel readings throughout this month, next weekend, the Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, the sacrament will be offered in the context of Mass. “Those of the faithful whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age may receive this Sacrament” (Pastoral Care of the Sick, 8). Designated pews will be made available for recipients of the sacrament.
Fourth World Day of Prayer for Grandparents and the Elderly: July 28
Evening Prayer and Ice Cream • 6:30 pm
Join us outside near the Banquet Center. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and your favorite ice cream topping. We will celebrate grandparents and all elders of the St. Noel Parish family. If it rains, we will gather in the Banquet Center. Plan to invite your parents, grandparents, and all wisdom figures who have blessed you with their love and the gift of their years. Your RSVP will help us plan well:
