Our Parish Mission Statement is comprised of four marks, stating that we are Catholic community committed to:
• inspiring worship
• gracious welcoming
• earnest service
• building God’s kingdom
From Saint Patrick’s Day, 2020, until Pentecost (31 May 2020), the pandemic had kept us from the public celebration of Mass.
During construction, due to the discovery of mold last September, we moved our celebrations
to the Banquet Center.
Once the Banquet Center re-opened to the public (1 May 2021), while re-construction on the church ceiling continued, we have gathered at Sacred Heart Chapel on the grounds of the Center for Pastoral Leadership. So, there are some parishioners we simply haven’t seen for well over a year!
First, thank you to one and all for your unwavering commitment, financial and otherwise, to Saint Noel Parish. Through it all, you’ve supported me in my role as pastor and done what’s been needed to sustain parish life. For those who remain unable to gather with us, we look forward to the day when the circumstances will be right for your safe return! Until then, continue to exercise good judgment (as we all should with the uncertainly that remains).
That being said, I am pleased to state that we can commit to our re-opening of the church the weekend of September 11-12, with an Open House on Wednesday, 8 September (the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary) from 5-8 pm, with Evening Prayer (Vespers) at 7:30 pm.
Beginning with our celebration of Evening Prayer with those who gather that night, together with you and our staff, we will spend the next three months re-committing ourselves to the first mark of our mission statement: INSPIRING WORSHIP (Sep, Oct, Nov). In the year ahead, we’ll follow with the remaining three: GRACIOUS WELCOMING (Dec, Jan, Feb); EARNEST SERVICE (Mar, Apr, May); all for the BUILDING OF GOD’S KINGDOM (Jun, Jul, Aug).
Please, look below and mark your calendars, as we prepare to re-enter our sacred space and re-familiarize ourselves with it and with one another. The world is a different place since March, 2020. I see this as an opportunity to continue growing in our faith and in relationship with each other!
Behold, I make all things new (Rev 21:5).
Fr. Terry
