Health Care Task Force

Mission Statement:

Formed in early 2000, the primary role of our Health Care Task Force has been to follow the example of Jesus in our concern for the sick. Specifically, we have been advocating for health care coverage for all people in our nation, a position established in 1993 by the American Bishops in their document entitled “Comprehensive Health Care Reform,” and still affirmed by the Bishops today as a human right. Our mission has also included service to the parish with the holding of such events as a health fair and panel discussions on end of life issues.

With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, the Task Force stopped meeting regularly.  As more of the ACA is reversed, the Task Force may need to restructure and resume its advocacy work.
