THE WEDNESDAY REPORT: March 15, 2023

Dear Partners in Ministry,

22 days to go... Sorry if seeing that number is a bit unsettling! Three items of interest for you:

Parish Collaborative Hymn Premiere

This weekend, we'll introduce "Bless the Lord," the result of our collaborative text-writing project in our January GIFT session. I will attach the score as a pdf for you to look through before tomorrow night (no need to print; I'll have copies for you). It's technically on Cantamus for you, but the file is behaving badly and I'm asking Support about it at the moment.

Taizé Prayer: Call for Musicians(!)

As of now, I only have 3 sopranos and one bass on board for Taizé... help! This won't work without choral leadership.

As I've mentioned before, we're planning a Taizé Prayer service on Friday, March 31 at 7:30 pm. I'd like to assemble an ensemble of at least 12 singers (at least three to a part), and any instrumentalists who would be interested as well. It's important to know that this will require a fair bit of self-preparation, as we won't be able to devote Thursday rehearsal time to this... perhaps we can find a time to meet once we're together. If you're interested and available, please let me know.

Rehearsals Next Week: We're Going to Sectionals

As you may know, Saint Noel is hosting the Diocese's Nine Nights of Prayer March 17-25. Due to the 8:15 Night Prayer service in the chapel, we are unable to rehearse longer than 8:00. SO! We're going to use most of the hour we have in sectional rehearsals, focusing on Alleluia and O vos omnes. Steve will lead the tenors and basses in the Nativity Room; sopranos and altos will stay in the church with Elke. I will divide my time 50/50. Several of you have suggested sectionals, and this seemed like the perfect time to do it. Thanks to Elke and Steve for making this possible!
