THE WEDNESDAY REPORT: February 26, 2025

Dear Partners in Ministry,

Our last Wednesday of February is also our last Wednesday of Ordinary Time for a while, as we welcome Lent next week. Lots to discuss, so read on!

Peace be with you,

Tony

NEWS

ALL MINISTRIES

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is one week from today, and with it, the beginning of the season of Lent. Masses will be celebrated at 8:30 a and 7:00 p, both in the main church, with distribution of ashes. Ushers, Servers, EMHC, and more are still needed for both Masses; please check MSP and lend a hand if able.

Next Concert Series Event March 9; Volunteers Needed

Our next Concert Series event is Sunday, March 9, featuring two familiar faces (violinist Andrew Sords and pianist Elizabeth DeMio) and a newcomer to Saint Noel, cellist Nathanael Matthews. We're in need of a few helping hands: greeters at the door to welcome our attendees and hand out programs, one or two "roadies" to assist me in moving the piano (can be done after the 11:00 Mass), setup, and teardown. If you're able to help, email me... I'll be truly grateful for the assist!

Good News re: "The Blessed and Broken"

Last weekend, we announced to the parish that our collaborative hymn, "Bless the Lord," will be published by OCP this spring. Just yesterday, I received word that OCP has also accepted "The Blessed and Broken," the well-received Communion song we introduced last year, dedication to Elke and all! I am so happy that this piece will be available for other parishes, and thank you all for your feedback, patience, and singing as the song became what it is today.

LECTORS

Reminder: Holy Week/Triduum Availability

So far, eighteen potential lectors have responded to the poll I sent on February 13, asking for interest and availability on Palm Sunday, Triduum, and Easter Sunday; thank you. If you are interested but haven't responded, please do so by Saturday, March 1. We will select this year's lectors next week. If you are not interested or able to serve on these days, no reply is needed.

MUSIC MINISTRY

Cantor Night Tomorrow Night

A reminder that tomorrow's rehearsal is a Cantor Night (if you're not a cantor, enjoy the night off, which will of course include your daily work on our Triduum music, right??). Cantors, we'll work on Psalms from March 2 through April 13.

Music Turn-In March 6

The following Thursday, March 6, is a regular rehearsal, with the added bonus of a massive turn-in opportunity to lighten your music binders! You can return any piece of music belonging to the parish that night except for the list of "keepers" below, all of which you'll need in the coming weeks.

As always, do not burden the librarians with old TEMP files, old song sheets, bulletins, etc. These items can be recycled.

KEEP LIST for March 6 (if you already have these pieces, do not turn them in).
