THE WEDNESDAY REPORT: April 6, 2022

THE WEDNESDAY REPORT: April 6, 2022

Dear Partners in Ministry,

Thank you all so much for the gift that Lent has been for myself and our whole parish family. I know this one in particular has been somewhat hastily assembled, but you’ve all been wonderfully patient and helpful, and I’m deeply grateful.

Before we dive into the busy-ness of the next week, I’m happy to say that we’re adding a new musical component to our Sunday liturgies! Starting April 24 (Second Sunday of Easter), we’ll call our young ones forth to Children’s Liturgy of the Word with soft instrumental music, then send them off by singing a short, repeated musical acclamation, “The Word of God.” Here’s a preview of the score (PDF) and an mp3 audio sample.

Reminder: Communal Penance Service Tonight

This evening, we gather as Church to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance together. All are welcome, and I’d appreciate anyone who’d like to join me in music ministry! We’ll gather at 6:30 for the 7:00 service.

  • Turn to Me (Foley)
  • Psalm 51: Create in Me/Oh Dios, Crea en Mí (Cortés). Don’t worry… we’ll sing it all in English.

  • Change Our Hearts (Cooney)

A Note About Fragrances

Here’s a reminder about a small but important courtesy we can do for one another. Because we gather so close together to rehearse and sing, taking in deep breaths while we do, please keep any perfumes, colognes, or other scented items to a minimum. Several of our choir members are sensitive to these scents and it can become a safety issue for some. Thanks!
