THE WEDNESDAY REPORT: April 3, 2024

Dear Partners in Ministry,

THANK YOU!

I just left our weekly staff meeting, and it's unanimous: Triduum and Easter Sunday were absolutely fantastic this year, and you all were such a big reason why. I saw so much hard work, growth, diligence, and care from you all in preparing and celebrating this year. I am genuinely grateful for— and proud of— each one of you!

For those of you who didn't hear me say it (especially Sunday at 9, because I didn't say it), we will not rehearse tomorrow night.

2024 TRIDUUM/EASTER MUSIC SURVEY

Naturally, I have a survey! As I've done in the past, I'm asking for your input regarding the music we prayed with this past weekend. Please take a few minutes to click the link included in your Wednesday Report email, and share any thoughts or comments. Thank you!

APRIL 7: MUSIC UPDATE

After the "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today Affair," I thought I should double-check lyrics for "Ye Sons and Daughters" against the Breaking Bread missal, and sure enough... it's different. SO! I have an arrangement for you which will be waiting for you in your folders this weekend, along with copies of the two psalms I sent yesterday. Be sure to visit your folder before settling in for Mass.

THE ULTIMATE MUSIC TURN-IN!

I think it's time to do a massive, all-included music turn-in; so, beginning this weekend, I'll have a large drop box for you in the choir area. With the exception of the specific pieces listed below, please return every score belonging to the parish that you currently have, whether it's from Triduum last week or Christmas 1994.

If you can, please alphabetize your stack of music beforehand, as it'll help us sort them out later.

THE KEEP LIST! Everyone needs hold on to the following pieces, as we're using them this Easter season:

  • 2.013 · Psalm 98 Complete (Ward)
  • 3.026 · The Summons (Bell, arr. Fisher)
  • 3.033 · Gift of Finest Wheat (Keil)
  • 3.057a · Hear Our Prayer (Prayer of the Faithful)
  • 3.059 · I Received the Living God (arr. Ward)
  • 3.069 · In the Lord I'll Be Ever Thankful (Taizé)
  • 3.079 · Bread of Life (Farrell)
  • 8.010 · Spirit of Our God (Ward)
  • 8.012 · Veni Sancte Spiritus (Taizé)
  • TEMP · The Blessed and Broken (Ward)

Additionally, if you're in Resurrection Choir, hang on to these pieces:

  • 1.001 · Mass of Creation (Haugen)
  • 1.100 · Two Antiphons for Funerals (Keil)
  • 2.017 · Psalm 23 Complete
  • 3.060 · In Your Dwelling Place
  • Funeral Gospel Acclamations (Ward)

The drop box will be available for you next Thursday as well.

FIRST COMMUNION APRIL 14

A reminder that we'll celebrate seven of our young parishioners who will make their First Communion on Sunday, April 14 at the 11 am Mass. I would like to make this an "all-choir" Mass (meaning, please join us if at all possible). This will be the livestreamed Mass as well.
