Dear Parishioner,
This
Sunday is the last Sunday of Advent. Our Christmas schedule is as
follows: On Friday, December 24 th , there will be Christmas liturgies
at 4:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., as well as Midnight. On Christmas Day,
there will be two liturgies, at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Before
the Midnight Mass, there will be a program of Christmas music by
our music ministry, beginning at 11:15 p.m. Because the day after
Christmas is Sunday we will have our regular two Masses at 9:00
& 11:00 a.m. for the Feast of the Holy Family. We will not,
however, have a 5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass on Saturday night since it
is Christmas Day. All of the Christmas liturgies are crowded, especially
the 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve; therefore, please make sure you
come early.
Because
January 1 st falls on a weekend the Solemnity of Mary is not a holy
day of obligation this year. Therefore, our regular weekend schedule
will take place for the Feast of the Epiphany. There will be a 5:00
p.m. Vigil Mass on Saturday, January 1 st and 9:00 & 11:00 a.m.
Mass on Sunday, January 2 nd . Also, please remember to join our
music ministry for our Epiphany Concert on Sunday, January 2 nd
at 4:00 p.m.
I
realize the many demands that are upon all of us during this holiday
season. I do, however, encourage you to plan ahead, so that you
will be able to worship with your family in a calm and prayerful
manner.
As
always, remember the additional people who come on Christmas should
be seen as an opportunity for us to demonstrate our faith by extending
to them a warm welcome. So please come to worship with your family
and bring with you a sincere desire to treat those visiting us with
hospitality.
Fr.
George Smiga

Peace
be IN you .
All of us would like
there to be world peace. Wars seem to be happening in all parts
of the world, and we can feel that there is nothing we can do to
help stop them. What we can focus on achieving is finding the peace
in ourselves to help better our lives, and others around us. Anthony
Camino will be speaking January 13, 2005, at 7:00 PM in the Resurrection
Room to help us find that peace. Please come join us to help make
our New Year more peaceful.
