Dear
Parishioner,
When
we are feeling well it is very easy to take good health for granted.
But whether we are ill or well, we Christians are called to be good
stewards of our bodies, minds and spirits. We must also be concerned
about the health and well-being of all our brothers and sisters.
Our Health Care Task Force would like to assist us with these responsibilities.
After
all liturgies on the weekend of November 18 th and 19 th , the task
force is sponsoring a Health Care Fair in the small hall and some
of the adjacent rooms. Many health care workers will be on hand
to check blood pressures, weigh and measure children (and brave
adults), measure body mass index, give instruction on preventing
falls, inform you of services available in their particular disciplines,
and much more. There will be a general information table, a table
presenting information on Hospice, as well as a table staffed by
mental health workers. Several parish ministries dealing with the
sick and hurting members of our community will also be represented.
One of the important missions of the task force is to advocate for
health care for everyone and to that end there will be a special
display on an effort here in Ohio to provide health insurance for
everyone. Randy is preparing healthy refreshments which will be
served in the small hall rather than the narthex, (sorry, no donuts!).
Health
is a gift from God which requires our attentiveness, education,
and care. Please plan to spend some time at the Health Care Fair
on November 18 th and 19 th and become a better steward of your
own well-being and that of others! We look forward to seeing you
there.

VISIT
OF BISHOP LENNON
– Bishop Lennon will be at St. Noel this Tuesday, November 7 th
to celebrate Mass with us at 7:30 p.m. A reception in the Banquet
Center will follow. Please come, and if you can, bring finger pastries
for the reception.
RITE
OF ACCEPTANCE
– This Sunday, November 5 th , we will celebrate the Rite of Acceptance
at our 9:00 a.m., liturgy. This Rite is a significant step taken
by men and women who seek full communion with our faith tradition.
This year, we have two catechumens preparing for Baptism, Confirmation
and Eucharist. They are Lu Collins and Phil McNeal. As you witness
their dismissal at the 9:00 a.m. liturgies in the months ahead,
be sure to notice who they are as you sing the refrain which accompanies
their departure. Please keep them in your prayers as we travel together
towards Easter.
CAMPAIGN
MATERIALS -
As election Tuesday approaches, each
of us will be deluged with literature, propaganda and sample voting
guides. Please know that St. Noel Church does not permit anyone
or any group to place flyers on cars in our parking lot, and if
this should happen, please know that it is being done without our
permission. We want the information you receive from
the parish to be informed, balanced, accurate and in line with our
status as a private, non-profit organization.
SACRAMENT
OF THE ANOINTING OF THE SICK
will be celebrated at all the Liturgies next weekend, November 11th
and 12th. We are inviting any parishioners or friends of our parishioners
who are coping with a serious physical, mental or emotional illness
or those dealing with the discomfort of aging to receive this Sacrament
next weekend. Even if you are not ill, your presence is important.
Your prayers for the sick among us are a concrete sign of Christian
love and compassion. Anyone who is willing to serve as a greeter
next weekend is asked to callthe parish office at 440-946-0887.

the kiosk, or call the office to register .
CCHD
HELPS THOSE IN NEED
by providing essential grants to community based projects that lead
to long-term change. For example, CCHD helped launch and has given
ongoing support to the East Side Organizing Project which works
with low-income people who are victims of predatory lending practices.
ESOP works to prevent predatory lending, increase responsible lending
and mitigate the impact of foreclosures in Greater Cleveland.
More than 7800 such projects have been supported both locally and
nationally since 1976. More information about CCHD and
the projects it funds can be found in the kiosk. Support
CCHD generously on
Nov. 18-19.

Salvadoran martyr sites including a visit to Oscar Romero's home
and crypt, visits with IPM Project Partners, and opportunities to
