Dear
Parishioner,
Last
year we were privileged to be one of several sites in Northeast
Ohio to host City Music Cleveland. The musicians and administration
of this excellent ensemble were very pleased with our hospitality,
the acoustics of our church, and the number in attendance. As a
result we will again host two City Music concerts this season. The
mission of City Music is to provide high quality free concerts of
classical musical throughout our region. James Gaffigan, who is
the associate conductor of the San Francisco Symphony, is City Music's
Director. He is not only a talented musician but an engaging host
who presents and explains the music which is to be performed. The
first concert at St. Noel will take place in our church on Friday,
October 12 th at 8:00 p.m. The program will include works by Mozart,
Mendelssohn, and Barber & Ravel. Jinjoo Cho, violin & Angela
Mortallaro, soprano will be the soloists. There is no cost for the
concert but a free-will offering will be taken to support City Music.
Child care is available by reservation. Please call the parish office
to register at 440-946-0887. There will be a simple reception at
intermission where you will be
able to interact with the artists. We will also host a concert with
City Music in May. Further information can be found at: www.CityMusicCleveland.org
.
If
you were present at either of City Music's concerts at St. Noel
last season you realize the high artistic quality of this memorable
ensemble. Because City Music performs free of charge its concerts
are a wonderful way to introduce children to classical music. So
please spread the word to your family and friends so that we might
fill the church for a wonderful evening of music.

REFLECTIONS
ON PEACE – Anyone who
does not take up his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
Luke
14:27
What
is this cross that Jesus talks about? What is the cross I must take
up in order to follow Jesus? How have I taken up my cross in taking
action on behalf of the poor? Of all victims of war? Of victims
of human trafficking? Of victims of genocide in Darfur? Of a nonviolent
means to attain peace?
FUNERAL
NOTIFICATION
- It has been decided that we will continue to offer an e-mail announcement
service for parishioners who wish to be notified of the death and
funeral arrangements for members of our community, but will do this
in house, instead of with Constant Contacts. Please be assured
that your e-mails will continue to remain private. Anyone
that is presently on the list will continue to receive the announcements.
If you would like to sign up for this service, please e-mail
clester@stnoel.org .
Remember, if you change your email address, or you want to discontinue
receiving these announcements, please e-mail us and let us know.
THE
MUSIC CONCERT that
was scheduled for September 16 th has been canceled.
