Next
weekend, September 9 th & 10 th we are again asking you to support
our parish Food Pantry. Over 40 families have received assistance
from the pantry in the last few months. This has been a record high
and has depleted our inventory. Any
and all non-perishable foods are welcome but as always we have a
particular need for soap and paper products. If you choose to bring
items before next weekend, just place them in the bin in the food
pantry area (same as the clothing drop-off area off the Narthex).
Our priority needs are listed below but we will be glad to receive
anything you may bring in.

The
parishioners who administer the Food Pantry are doing important
work in the name of St. Noel. Keep them in your prayers as well
as all the clients that come for food. Please try to contribute
something to this important ministry next weekend.

LABOR
DAY – Liturgy for Labor
Day, September 4 th at 9:00 a.m. will be in the outdoor Chapel (weather
permitting.)
SIGNED
LITURGY- This Sunday,
September 3 rd the 11:00 a.m. Mass will be signed for the hearing
impaired. Reserved seating can be found in the first two rows of
chairs by the Eucharist Chapel.
HOSPITALITY
- We need
your help. Our hospitality ministry is looking for someone who would
be willing to do the scheduling of these ministers. Please call

ALTAR
LINEN LAUNDRY – We are in need of
additional volunteers to launder and iron the altar linens. You
would be scheduled once every two months. Please call the parish
office at 440-946-0887 for additional information.
THE
SAINT NOEL CONCERT SERIES PRESENTS
“A Summer Celebration” featuring the St. Noel Chamber Singers. The
concert will be held on Sunday, September 10 at 4:00 PM at St. Noel
Church. Music will include the magnificent Five Mystical Songs by
R. Vaughan Williams (with Marc Weagraff as baritone soloist) as
well as pieces by Haydn, Tallis and others. The concert is free
of charge. A free-will offering will be taken to support the Music
Ministry Pilgrimage Fund. Don't miss this chance to hear some extraordinary
music! Mark your calendars now.

AUGUSTINE CENTER BENEFIT DINNER ,
Thursday, November 16, 2006. Save the date for
another great evening (5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.) The menu will be salad
and rolls, roast pork and Hawaiian chicken, redskin potatoes, vegetable,
and dessert, served “family style” for only $13.00 per person. We
will have a Silent Auction and several other surprises.
We
are in the process of collecting items for the auction and locating
sponsors for the evening. If you want to donate an item for auction,
please call Jim Klements at 440-442-2744. To ensure recognition
in the auction program all donations must be received by November
9 th . You will receive a letter and dinner reservation form in
the mail early in October.
“FAITH
IN ACTION ”
Looking for a concrete way to live out your faith and the command
to love our neighbor as ourselves? Here is an opportunity!
Faith in Action is an outreach program to frail elderly persons
or disabled persons of our area. Volunteers are recruited
to help these people remain independent through friendly visiting,
transportation to appointments, help with errands, light meal preparation
and occasional respite care for family members caring for relatives
in their homes. St. Noel recently became a coalition member
to Faith In Action. The director of the program is Dr. Maita
Jarkewicz, our parishioner. Maita will be in the narthex after
all Masses on September 23 & 24 to speak with you directly about
Faith In Action and to facilitate your signing up to be a volunteer.
On Thursday evening, October 5, 2006 from 7 to 9 p.m. Maita will
be conducting volunteer training here at St. Noel. Please
pray about and consider this invitation to make the Gospel come
alive for those in our midst who are in need of these services.
LABOR
DAY REFLECTION
– There is a gold handout entitled “Honor and Support Workers this
Labor Day” in the Social Justice section of the kiosk which offers
some reflections on the subject of workers from the perspective
of Catholic Social Teaching. Please help yourself!
EUCHARISTIC
ADORATION –
there will be no Eucharistic Adoration
on Monday, September 4, 2006 because of the Labor Day holiday.
BAPTISM
DAY – will be held
on Sunday, September 17 th from 12:15-3:30 p.m. Parents who are
planning to present a child for Baptism in the next six months,
or already have done so and have not previously attended such a

LITURGICAL
MINISTERS – Please
remember to return your response cards for the evening of reflection
for all liturgical ministers on Tuesday evening, September 12, 2006.
SOCIAL
JUSTICE MINISTRY –
is planning a field trip to Crown Point Ecology Center (they grow
organic foods) in Bath, Ohio on Saturday, September 23, 2006. If
interested please call the parish office at 440-946-0887.
THE
ELIZABETH MINISTRY'S “ELIZABETH'S ROSES”
- will be available in the narthex following all Masses on the weekend
of September 9-10, 2006. Designed to identify, pray for, and support
the needs of women and their families during the childbearing years,
parishioners are invited to select a rosebud from the display and
indicate a particular need relating to pregnancy, birth, adoption,
fertility or loss. Elizabeth ministers will pray daily for the families
represented, and if requested, will contact the family in order
to provide continued support. Prayer cards will be available for
personal meditation. For further information click on the Elizabeth

EARLY
BIRD DRAWING, REGISTRATION SOON!
There will be a drawing for a GIFT basket at each of the opening
GIFT sessions for those registered on or before September 17. Each
person registered for either the Wednesday or Sunday sessions (Sept.
27 or October 1) will be entered into a drawing for a basket of
interesting items. The September session is titled: Making
Room at the Table: Solidarity With the Stranger . Adults
will check out some of their own ideas against the reality presented
by a panel of people with first-hand experience. Through scripture,
stories, and fun activities, children will come to see how much
we are like the stranger. Register now!!
WOMEN'S
BIBLE STUDY beginning Tuesday, September
12 th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the Book of Acts. For more

PARISH
RETREAT -
will be held on Wednesday, September 6th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00
p.m. The retreat theme will be “How I Spent My Summer Vacation:
A Sharing of Transfiguration Moments.” The retreat will be facilitated
by members of the St. Noel community. Sign up is on the kiosk. (A
$5.00 donation is suggested for the lunch.) Eucharistic Adoration
will be at 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Nativity Room.
CATHOLIC
UPDATE –
entitled “Strangers No Longer: Together on the Journey of Hope,”
is now available in the kiosk.
BEREAVEMENT
SERIES – Our Bereavement
Ministry invites anyone (participants need not be parishioners)
who is coping with the loss of a family member or friend to attend
a series of evenings designed to support and assist people in their
grieving. The series will be held in the Resurrection Room on Thursday,
September 21st through October 26th; and each evening will include
some time for prayer. These sessions will begin at 7:00 p.m. and
conclude at 8:30 p.m. If you would like to attend, please register
by calling the parish office at 440-946-0887. Fliers are available
in the kiosk.
ADULT
& YOUTH VOLUNTEERS are
needed to help out in the playroom during the 9:00
a.m. Mass on Sunday mornings. If you are able to help please call

-We will celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Please
remember to bring your food donation for the food pantry to this
meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend Senior Fellowship.

thought about serving as a Eucharistic Minister at Mass? Training
is coming up in October, and you can be a part of it. Please contact

It's a great way to deepen your faith and serve the parish.

MOVERS – The movers
continue to pick up and deliver furniture at no cost. Thanks
to all who have donated to support this ministry. Please call Anthony
to arrange for pick up or to help in the furniture ministry. We
are currently forming two-person crews to pick up and deliver furniture.

GROUPS – Both our junior
high group and PRIME TIME, our high school youth group will be starting

MUSIC
MINISTRY CD'S
– The St. Noel Music Ministry CD entitled How Can We Keep From
Singing? featuring the choir, chamber singers and hand bell
choir are available in the church office. Proceeds benefit the music
ministry pilgrimage fund.

NOEL BANQUET CENTER -
We are currently booking the Banquet Center for the remainder of
2006 and all of 2007. Remember, parishioners or their immediate
family receive a 10% discount for evening weddings and a 5% discount
for any other events held at St. Noel Banquet Center. We are now
offering a $5.00 discount to anyone during the months of November,
December, January, February and March for any weddings of 150 people
or more on any Fridays or Saturdays during these months when using
our sit-down, family style, or buffet menus. Please remember to
recommend St. Noel Banquet Center when you or a friend or even the
company you work for are planning an event throughout the year.

– Help for troubled marriages. Retrouvaille
is a program which helps couples to rediscover each other in a new
and positive way. A Retrouvaille weekend will be held on September

WEEKEND FOR DIVORCED, SEPARATED AND WIDOWED – Divorced,
separated and widowed men and women of all ages are encouraged to
attend a weekend designed for those who wish to let go of the painful
past and create a more peace-filled future. Presented by people
who have “been there” and offer their support. The next BEGINNING
EXPERIENCE WEEKEND will be held on October 6 th , 7 th , and 8 th

SISTERS OF NOTRE DAME invite

TAIZE
PRAYER will

VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED – Have
you been thinking about volunteering for something important in
your neighborhood? Hospice of the Cleveland Clinic is looking for
weekday volunteers to support terminally ill patients and/or their
families. Visit once a week at a time when they need it the most.

counties invite you to an informational meeting on the legal, financial,
and psychological issues surrounding separation and divorce. This
two hour session is open to all who want to learn more about what
the twenty churches in the area offer to those newly separated and

LAKE
COUNTY RIGHT TO LIFE
is currently in need of yarn and fabric for its Blankets for Babies
Projects. Afghans, quilts and infant garments are created and then
distributed to several NE Ohio agencies and ministries to be given
to pregnant mothers. Materials can be dropped off at the Right to
Life Office at 8558 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Monetary donations used
for the purchase of materials can be mailed to LCRTL, P.O. Box 1750,

Theatre Youth will be holding open auditions (Grades 5-12) for the
fall productions of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Auditions

VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY
- On Sat. Sep. 23, from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., volunteer with
St.Vincent De Paul Society (a Catholic lay organization that invites
women and men to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service
to those who are most vulnerable.) Volunteers will be working
at the St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store located at 6610 Biddulph
Rd, Brooklyn, OH 44144. Those volunteering will: greet and
help customers find items in the store; check-in and check-out clothing
and furniture; sort and hang clothing to take to retail floor; sort,
clean up and/or test donated electronic items before putting on
