Dear Parishioner,

It has been our custom as a parish to celebrate a parish picnic during the summer months. This always has been and remains an excellent idea. But the best of ideas can come to pass only when practical planning accompanies them. This year our parish picnic has fallen victim to a planning oversight.

The site for the picnic, which in recent years has been Campbell Park, must be reserved months in advance. Last year, you will remember, we held a festive celebration of our 25th Anniversary in place of the picnic. With all the planning for that anniversary, we failed to reserve a place for our usual picnic this summer. When we realized the oversight and tried to locate a place this spring, all our normal venues were booked. Therefore, we will not be holding a summer picnic this year. In a few months we will be calling to reserve Campbell Park for a parish picnic next summer. Sorry to all of you waiting for those hot dogs with Randy's sauerkraut. Live and learn.
