Dear
Parishioner,
From
the beginning of St. Noel, parishioners have enjoyed the outdoor
chapel. Built and maintained by parishioners, this area of our property
provides an outdoor setting for the Eucharist at selected Masses
during the week and on holidays. We have already celebrated a Mass
in the chapel this year on Friday, June 15 th . The next outdoor
Mass will be on July 4 th at 9:00 a.m. The outdoor Masses for the
rest of the summer are:
Tuesday,
July 24 th , 8:45 a.m.
Friday,
August 10 th , Noon
Monday,
September 3 rd , 9:00 a.m. (Labor Day)
All
of these days will depend upon favorable weather, but when the climate
is right, it is a real joy to pray in the midst of God's creation.
Also remember that the chapel is available during daylight hours
as a place for your personal prayer. The chapel can provide a quiet
setting in which you may reflect in the midst of a busy day.
Over
the past few years John Kucmanic has undertaken the responsibility
of maintaining the chapel. Each spring he has coordinated clean-up
from the winter weather and has improved the plantings in the area.
I want to thank John for his generosity. He has informed me that
at the end of this season he would like to step down from this responsibility.
I am therefore requesting a parishioner or a group of parishioners
to volunteer to coordinate the maintenance of the chapel beginning
next spring. The work need not be done by the coordinators. We have
often appealed for volunteers to assist in spring clean-up and necessary
repairs.
From
the beginning, the outdoor chapel has been a volunteer effort on
the part of our parishioners. This is a tradition I support. Therefore
we will need a coordinator to step forward if the use of the chapel
is to continue. If you feel you can serve our parish in this capacity
or if you have any questions please contact me.
Please
consider using our chapel this summer and discern if you might be
someone whose generosity will allow our chapel to remain an accessible
place for prayer.

ARIS
YOUTH HANDBELL ENSEMBLE
of Tallinn, Estonia, will be performing at St. Noel on Saturday,
July 28 at 7:30 PM. The Estonian youth handbell choir is touring
the United States for the first time ever and we are very fortunate
to be included on their itinerary. Formed in 2003, the ringers
were chosen from an auditioned field of over 200 students.
The Arsis Handbell School trains the students from the age of 11
in music theory, piano, music history and handbell technique.
Many of the young ringers have been studying handbells and music
for nearly a decade. Please join us for this wonderful opportunity
to share beautiful music and international culture. To learn more
about Arsis, visit their web site at www.arsis.ee
. We are in need of people to host the members of Arsis in their
home for one night. If you are interested in doing this, please
contact Marc Weagraff at 440-946-0887 for details. Thank you for
your hospitality!
A
WONDERFUL RESPONSE !
We want to extend a heartfelt “thank you” for your response to “Project
Summer Stock.” Because of your very generous donations we
can assure our clients of our assistance with food throughout the
summer months.
LOAVES
AND LETTERS On Friday, July 13 th at 6:30 p.m. the Social
Justice Ministry invites you to participate in the next Loaves and
Letters event. Come share a meal of salad and bread, then learn
a bit about the pending 2007 Farm Bill from our friends at Bread
For The World. After that, we'll write letters to our legislators
asking that the bill be written to strengthen family farms and help
alleviate hunger. "The primary goals of agricultural
policies should be providing food for all people and reducing poverty
among farmers and farmworkers in this country and abroad. A key
measure of every agricultural program and legislative initiative
is whether it helps the most vulnerable farmers, farmworkers, and
their families and whether it contributes to a global food system
that provides basic nutrition for all." -The USCCB
Presentations and letter writing opportunities are both presented
for children or adults. Look for the sign-up sheet on the
kiosk, or call the office. Remember: THE FOOD IS FREE,
A LETTER IS YOUR FEE!
SAVE
PAPER TOWEL TUBES – If you have any
empty paper towel tubes please bring them into the parish office.

at 440-946-1128 X 21 if you have any questions.
St. Noel Endowment Fund Although
we all put off thinking about end of life issues, it is important
to our families and loved ones that we address these issues.
It may seem overwhelming to take that first step but it is important
to consider four basic planning documents to get started:
a Last Will and Testament, Health Care Power of Attorney, Living
Will and a Financial Power of Attorney. You should discuss
which documents fit in with your estate plan with your attorney.
If you would like to include the St. Noel Endowment Fund
in your estate plan, please contact the St. Noel office at 440-946-0887.

STOCK
OPTIONS - the market
can be a rough ride!! Why not purchase stock in a lasting, worthwhile
commodity - OUR YOUTH!! Starting this weekend ,
you can invest in the youth of our parish who are traveling to Washington,
DC and Kentucky this summer to perform community service and learn
about their faith. Stockholders will receive a stock certificate
and an invitation to our service report once we return. Sure it's
a fundraiser, but this stock will pay big dividends! Shares sell
for $10. Stop by the table in the narthex and thanks for your support!
BLOOD
DRIVE – The American
Red Cross will be at St. Noel Church on Sunday, July 29 th to conduct
a blood drive. Thanks to all who supported the drive last month!
Further details will be in the bulletin and on the kiosk. The Northern
Ohio Regions supplies 57 local hospitals and tries to collect 900
units every day to keep the supplies at adequate levels. High schools
and colleges supply 15% of the blood so summer break is a critical
time for other groups to help. Please consider donating blood on
July 29 th . If you're interested in volunteering to help on the
29 th , please call Anthony.
GRIEF
