Quick View of Meetings for the Week

Archive of Weekly Bulletins

Dear Parishioner,

I would like to thank all of our parishioners who devoted time and energy to prepare our outdoor chapel for summer use. I would particularly like to thank John Kucmanic for his willingness to organize the clean up and repairs. Since we have moved from four to three liturgies per weekend, there is no longer a weekend liturgy small enough to be accommodated outdoors. We will usually plan to hold our July 4 th and Labor Day liturgies outdoors. However, July 4 th falls this year on a Sunday, so the Sunday celebration of the 14 th Sunday in ordinary time takes precedence and we will be celebrating that weekend in the church.

We have scheduled these weekday liturgies in the outdoor chapel during June, July, August, and September: June 25th , July 13th, 30th, August 17th, 27th, and Labor Day September 6th . You will be reminded of each of these dates in the bulletin the week before they occur. If weather is too hot or wet, the liturgy will take place in the church.

I encourage you to visit the outdoor chapel after Mass on the weekends or any time during the week. You may find it a suitable environment for personal prayer and reflection. You can reach the chapel by following the new cement walkway which begins at the new parking lot at the north end of the building.

                  Fr. George Smiga

WE DID IT! Thanks to many generous donors from the parish we have reached our monetary goal and will be able to purchase our new octave of handbells. The bellchoir is particularly grateful and we hope that everyone will appreciate the joyous sounds we plan to bring to the liturgy in order to deepen our worship experience at St. Noel. Thank you again for your generosity!

SOCIAL JUSTICE GEMS –“At a time of rampant individualism, we stand for family and community. At a time of intense consumerism, we insist it is not what we have, but how we treat one another that counts. In an age that does not value permanence or hard work in relationships, we believe marriage is forever and children are a blessing, not a burden. At a time of growing isolation, we remind our nation of its responsibility to the broader world, to pursue peace….”

(U.S. Catholic Bishops, Communities of Salt and Light ).

WE'RE TELLING A SECRET – It has often been said that Catholic Social Teaching is a well kept secret. Our Social Concerns Commission plans to change that soon! Beginning this September we will be launching a 30 week course on Catholic Social Teaching called “Just Faith.” We will be gathering on Sunday evenings and our learning will involve our heads, our hearts and our actions. Reading, videos, guest speakers and group discussion will be our learning tools. There will be a charge for materials which is yet to be determined. We're excited about this offering and hope that you will be too! Watch for more details in future bulletins.

SIGNED LITURGY- On Sunday, July 4 Mary Smith will be joining us to sign the 11:00 a.m. Mass for the hearing impaired. Reserved seating can be found in the first two rows of chairs by the Eucharist Chapel.
