STATE BUDGET ACTION ALERT #2 – The Catholic Commission of Lake & Geauga urges us to call Senator Timothy Grendell at 614-644-7718 and urge him to support the “premium participation program” which would allow uninsured children in families with incomes over 300% FPL to buy into Medicaid/SCHIP on a sliding fee scale, with those in upper income families paying the full cost. Children with special health needs have a special need for this program since private health coverage can be unavailable or extremely expensive. Families over 300% FPL may not find affordable health coverage in the private market, particularly if one member is sick.
