Dear Parishioner,

As I have previously announced, Bishop Lennon has set in place a new policy for Confirmation in our diocese. Previously Confirmation could be celebrated for those eight years or older, now the policy is 8th grade or older. Because of the new directive, this will be the last year that we will be celebrating Confirmation and First Eucharist together. Bishop Roger Gries’ schedule does not allow us to celebrate Confirmation and First Eucharist at our weekend Masses this year. Our celebration will take place on Saturday, May 8th at 11:00 a.m. Any parishioner who wishes to attend this liturgy is welcome to participate. Next year we will return to the practice of celebrating First Communion at our weekend liturgies.

I ask you to keep the 57 young people who will be Confirmed and invited to the Eucharist for the first time in your prayers.

If you know any of these members of our parish, be sure to congratulate them in the upcoming weeks. Even though their Confirmation and First Eucharist are occurring this year apart from our weekend liturgies, our young people still depend on our prayers and support and we as a community benefit as they are fully initiated into the Church.
