Dear Parishioner,
I
would like to thank the many parishioners who volunteered for fish
fries. We had another successful year. For the six fish fries, we
served 6,281 people and profited $27, 908.50 for our parish.

CRUCIFIXION
& TRANSCENDANCE – On
Sunday, April 17 th from 2-4:00 p.m. Fr. George will be offering
an educational program through the Cleveland Ecumenical Institute
at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The day will begin with a one-hour
lecture on the crucifixion scenes in the Gospels and continue by
viewing four artworks in the museum's collection which represent
Christ on the Cross. The day is meant to show how both the scriptures
and great art are able to express both life and death simultaneously.
The cost for the program is $20. Registration can be made by filling
out a form from the kiosk or by calling Mary Thomas at the institute
at 216-320-1242.
HEALING
MINISTRY - Jesus desires
each of us to be well in body, mind and spirit. Come … be touched
by His love this Wednesday at the 6:45 p.m. evening liturgy. Experience
God's healing through the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick
during Mass, be comforted and refreshed by Jesus in the Eucharist.
Prayer teams will be available to pray with you for your special
needs.
PARISH
25 TH ANNIVERSARY NOTE – This
weekend our parish celebrates Confirmation and First Eucharist.
Over the past twenty-five years, 866 people have come to the Table
of the Lord to receive nourishment for the journey. May all who
continue to partake in this Eucharistic feast deepen their relationship
with one another and God. Save the date for the
Parish 25 th Anniversary Celebration, Sunday afternoon, August 21
st . More details to follow.

THIS YOU? Are
you a baptized person formed in the ways of Christian living but
not a Catholic? Have you been worshipping with us on a regular basis
for a while now? Do you ever think about formalizing your relationship
to the Catholic Church, but think the RCIA is too long and too involved
for your needs? Would you like to be participating in the sacraments
of the Church? If you have answered “yes” to all of the above why
not join us for a six week modified form of the RCIA which will
begin on Tuesday evening April 12 th . We will meet in the Resurrection
Room from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. At the conclusion of the six weeks,
those who have discerned that God is inviting them to formalize
their relationship with the Catholic community will be received
into the Church at the 11:00 a.m. Mass on Trinity Sunday, May 22,

CONCERNED
ABOUT POVERTY? – “
G reater C levelanders T ogether O vercoming
P overty (GCTOP)” is an ecumenical faith based group initiated
last fall to address the economic plight of the city of Cleveland.
Several members of our Social Concerns Commission as well as members
of the Diocesan Social Action office have been participating in
GCTOP meetings. This group is sponsoring a bus trip to Columbus
on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 in conjunction with a statewide rally
to protest proposed cuts in the Ohio state budget that would negatively
impact already struggling families. Buses will leave muny
parking near the Shoreway and E 9 th St. at 7:45 a.m. and return
between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Bus fare and lunch will be provided.
GCTOP will be making appointments to speak with state representatives.
Please join us if you are able. Reservations are needed and

CARE
GIVER SUPPORT AND EDUCATION MEETING will
be held here at St. Noel on Wednesday, April 20 th . It will be
presented by Lake County Catholic Charities to provide information
for those feeling the stress of care-giving and how they can find
local help for themselves and those they care for. Discussions revolve
around stress management, communication strategies, how to find
the help you need, etc. Please consider joining us for an evening
of valuable information, support and sharing. There is no
cost for the program . Pre-registration is required.

LIFE BOOK – There are
a couple of corrections to the Parish Life Book that you received
in the mail the beginning
of this month. On Page 7 (Marriages) the following couple's name
was omitted from the page: Dario Savron & Emily Hashier. Due
to a printing error, the title at the top of page 12 was left off.
It should have read: Parish Pastoral Council .
WANTED
CRAFT PEOPLE – Catechesis
of the Good Shepard is looking for a few good craft people! Do you
have a knack for woodworking, painting, drawing, sculpting or sewing?

VOLUNTEERS – Please join us for an
appreciation get-together and opportunity to process the three GIFT
pilot sessions. We will gather on Wednesday evening, April 13 th
at 7:30 p.m. in the small hall.

yellow page (from the 3rd session's home kit) anytime and put it
in the yellow folder in the narthex.
MOTHER'S
DAY BRUNCH – will be
held on Sunday, May 8, 2005. Reservations are required. There will
be two seatings (10:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.). Adults are $15, Children
6-12 years are $7, and children 5 years and younger are free. Please

FIRST
COMMUNION COMPANIONS
- Children at St. Augustine will be preparing to receive First Holy
Communion on April 24 th . They are in need of clothing, prayer
books, rosaries, and a luncheon after Mass to celebrate their special
day. If you can help with a donation of any kind please call the

NOEL FELLOWSHIP –Activities
for the month of April are as follows: April
14 th – Horse Racing – April 21 st -
12:00 p.m. meeting and social then at 12:30 p.m. we will
have our luncheon consisting of salisbury steak/gravy, vegetable,
mashed potatoes, salad, rolls, and peach pie. The cost of the luncheon
is $6.00 per person. April 28 th - we will be
celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. Please remember to bring
your food donation for the food bank to this meeting. Everyone is
welcome to attend the Senior Fellowship on Thursday.
ROSARY
– Join us Tuesday,
April 19 th , from 7-7:45 p.m. in the chapel as we pray the Rosary.
All are welcome to this quiet, reflective time in honor of Mary
and her Son, Jesus.

HIGH YOUTH GROUP – Our

MOVERS – We are in need
of baby cribs, mattress and box springs (any size), dressers as
well as any furniture in good condition. We do not pick up
clothes, knick knacks or items needing repair. Please call

WHITEWATER
RAFTING – We're planning
a rafting trip on the incredible New River in WV for late June of
2005. Tentative dates are June 28-30. Call Anthony for
details.
CONFIRMATION
- St .
Noel Church welcomes Bishop Amos to the 11:00 Mass on April 17 th
to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with 10 members of our
parish. All are invited to celebrate with us!
GOLDEN
WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
- Bishop Pilla will celebrate the annual Golden Wedding Anniversary
Celebration this year at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist
on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Registrations are now being
accepted for couples married 50 years (married in 1955). Deadline
for registration is June 17, 2005. Please call the parish office

DIVORCE
RECOVERY FOR CATHOLICS- The
experience of separation and divorce is never easy. You must deal
with the shock of realizing your marriage has ended and your life
is going in a different direction. To help those in this process,
the Catholic parishes in Lake and Geauga counties have developed
an 8-week program that promotes emotional and sacramental healing,
fosters support, independence and empowerment. This 8-week support
group will begin on Wednesday, April 27 th at St. Mary Magdalene
Church 460 East 321 st Street, Willowick, from 7-9:00 p.m. Sessions
are designed to provide direction and support, along with tools
for coping, in a caring, confidential setting. For more information

SPRING
‘THEOLOGY ON TAP' to explore bringing God's message to inmates –
Sister Rita Mary Harwood,
SND will address “Locked Up But Not Locked Out: The Diocese's Hidden
Parishes” as the spring installment of Theology on Tap, her
talk begins at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25 th at the Boneyard
Grill, 101 E. Broadview Road., Broadview Heights. Sr. Rita Mary
is Secretary for Parish Life and Development and is in charge of
the Diocesan Ministry to the incarcerated. The event begins with
a cash bar at 6:30 p.m. and the lecture will start at 7:30 p.m.

SEEKING HOST FAMILIES FOR THE 2005/2006 SCHOOL YEAR –
The Mentor Chapter of AFS (American Field Service), the oldest existing
exchange student program in the U.S., is looking for host families
in the Willoughby and Willoughby Hills Area for the next school
year. This school year, Willoughby South is hosting a girl from
Switzerland and a girl from Chile. New Students will arrive in August
from many different countries; these students are eager to learn
and share their cultures. Support is given to the student and families

ASPECTS
OF DEMENTIA
presented by Stephen A. Baum, M.D., Thursday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m.
in the St. John Vianney Social Center. Dr. Baum is a
specialist in geriatric medicine and on the board of the Alzheimer's
Association. His presentation will cover common types of dementia,
how is it diagnosed, and what treatments are available. The presentation

THE
OHIO BOYCHOIR – is
proud to present a concert by the American Boychoir from Princeton,
New Jersey. The concert will be held at St. Stanislaus Church, on
Sunday, April 17 th at 3:00 p.m. The church is located at 3649 E.
65 th Street, in the Slavic Village neighborhood. Admission is free;
however an offering will be received. Please invite your friends
and family to join us for this exciting event.
THE
CLEVELAND CLINIC has
a need for volunteers at the main campus and at the suburban Family
Health Centers. Volunteer opportunities are available for those
who prefer patient contact. We especially need lobby greeters and
volunteers to escort patients. We are also looking for volunteers
to visit and provide moral support to hospitalized patients. Please

THE
INSTITUTE OF CATHOLIC STUDIES AT JOHN CARROLL UNIVERSITY invites
you to a lecture by: Professor Jacalyn Duffin Hannah, a Professor
of Medicine, Philosophy, and History at Queen's University. The
lecture “Miracles, Saints, and Doctors: What Does the Vatican have
to do with Hematology?” will take place on Thursday, April 21 st
at 7:30 p.m. in the D.J. Lombardo Student Center Conference Room.
