Dear
Parishioner,
As I have previously announced, Anthony Camino who has served here at St. Noel as a Pastoral Associate since 1995 will be leaving us for a new position. Anthony has accepted the position as Director of Campus Ministry at Notre Dame College in South Euclid. His responsibilities will include the pastoral care of students, the planning and execution of liturgies, the service opportunities, and the teaching of one Theology course each semester. Anthony will assume his responsibilities at Notre Dame as of May 1st this year. I know that Anthony is well-qualified to serve at Notre Dame, and I trust this position will allow him to deepen the skills of teaching and pastoral service which were so beneficial to us at St. Noel.
I am happy to announce that Anthony and his wife Laura and their son Dominic plan to continue as parishioners here at St. Noel. So in one sense we will not need to say good bye. However, to mark his departure from our staff and to provide a specific time in which you can express your thanks, we will hold a reception for Anthony in the Banquet Center/small hall from 10-11:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 20th. I encourage you to stop in and add your appreciation to my own for Anthony’s 13 years of service to our parish.
Together with representatives of Divine Word Parish, we are now in the process of interviewing candidates to assume Anthony’s responsibilities as Youth Minister and to lead a joint youth ministry program between St. Noel and Divine Word. As soon as our efforts bear fruit we will share the news with you.
Fr.
George Smiga
MY ST. NOEL FRIENDS!
As I reflect on 13 years of walking the journey of faith with you, I am indebted to so many who have witnessed the power of our risen Savior. Your generosity, commitment and love continue to make St. Noel a vibrant and spirit-filled community. Most especially, I want to thank all of the beautiful teenagers who have inspired me, kept me young, and shown me how to live as a disciple. My many, many high school and middle school memories are a constant source of joy.
The change in my job came as a surprise to many, including me, but change is often the pathway to growth. I am excited about the opportunity to join the staff at Notre Dame College, and glad to remain a member of St. Noel Church. As I embrace change, so, too, this faith community – our faith community - must embrace change and look to the future with enthusiasm and hope.
I am deeply grateful for the countless relationships that have had such a formative impact on my life and ministry. We were a good fit!! Please take a moment to say hello to me on the 20th and celebrate the time we have shared together.
In Christ,
Anthony Camino
