Dear Parishioner,
As we announced two weeks ago, St. Noel is beginning an exciting new opportunity with Geauga Family Farms. Geauga Family Farms is a cooperative of ten family farmers whose goal is to provide organically grown produce to the Northeast Ohio community.
By becoming a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) member, you can enjoy the tastes, smells and textures of truly fresh vegetables. The season begins in early spring with tender greens, lettuces, green onions, radishes and rhubarb, continuing into summer with sweet corn, peppers, beans, potatoes, watermelons, and tomatoes, and winds up in late fall with cabbage and squash. Boxes include in-season fruits such as organic strawberries and raspberries. Also included are conventionally grown fruits and berries such as blueberries, peaches, plums, apples and pears.
The produce grown by Geauga Family Farms is pesticide free which offers you fresh organically grown food. This approach protects our environment which is our charge as stewards of God’s creation. It also supports our local economy.
You can purchase a one bushel share for $650 or a half bushel share for $400. These shares entitle you to fresh produce for a 20 week period beginning late May or early June. Pick up will be on Saturdays here at St. Noel. Any parts of your share which you do not wish to keep can be donated to our food pantry.
If you wish more information on this cooperative, please pick up a flyer in the narthex. I plan to contract for a half bushel share myself. I look forward to cooking, tasting and enjoying the vegetables and fruit harvest of our local farms in Northeast Ohio.

Something to think about from the St. Noel Endowment Board….If your insurance policy was purchased more than a few years ago, you may be surprised to find that you can get just as much insurance today with a lesser premium or more insurance for the same premium. Contact your financial advisor to discuss an insurance review of your policy or policies.
