Dear
Parishioner,
On
Monday, February 18 th we concluded the discernment process for
our new Parish Pastoral Council. As you know the primary role of
the Pastoral Council is to serve as a consultative body to me regarding
the vitality of our spiritual life as a parish. Any major decisions
which will influence the future of our parish are discussed in the
Parish Pastoral Council. For this reason it is important to have
a balanced and committed group of parishioners to serve on the council.
Twenty-nine parishioners, all of whom were excellently qualified
to serve in this capacity, began discernment on January 14 th .
Through this process we have now arrived at thirteen parishioners
who will comprise our new Parish Pastoral Council.
They
are:
Dave
Barni Joan Mihalcik
Georgeanne
Botek Margaret Neville
Diane
Csaszar Eleanor Reilly
Patty
DeJohn Tom Repko
Ric
Doringo Bob Tomkalski
Randy
Eveland Mel Troha
Sr.
Kathleen Heer
The
new Pastoral Council will be commissioned at the 11:00 a.m. Mass
on March 30 th . I would like to thank all the parishioners who
participated in the discernment process. Please keep all the members
of the council in your prayers as they undertake this role of service
for our parish.
Fr.
George Smiga
EUCHARISTIC
ADORATION
- Monday, February 25 th Adoration will conclude at 6:00 p.m. because
of First Reconciliation.
EUCHARISTIC
ADORATION
– How about making a commitment this Lent to visit Jesus at Eucharistic
Adoration on Mondays. Jesus waits for you to put aside your busy
schedule and spend whatever quality time you can before the Blessed
Sacrament. We all need to quiet ourselves in order to hear the promptings
of Jesus. Come for an hour, a few minutes or whatever time you can
spare – but COME. We have Eucharistic Adoration every Monday from
1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
REMINDER
- Please remember
to return your Catholic Charities envelopes to the parish office.
STATIONS
OF THE CROSS
– Pray the Stations of the Cross each Friday of Lent at 7:30 p.m.
in the church (after the fish fry). This week The Peace Group will
lead the stations.
ST.
NOEL FISH FRIES – Fridays
of Lent (not Good Friday), from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed
for serving and cleanup. Sign-up sheets are on the kiosk. You will
not receive a phone call – just come at the time you have signed
up. Also, Randy needs volunteers who can help set up fish fries
on Fridays at 12:30 p.m. If you can help, please call the hall office
(440-946-6635) and let them know.

THANK
YOU to all who supported
the Mardi Gras this year from planners to participants! Not
only was it a very enjoyable event but $3,216.00 was raised for
our Social Justice Fund which provides emergency assistance to those
in need of help with a utility bill, security deposit, car repair
and the like. This fund also supports the meal we serve at
St. Augustine and makes occasional donations in the name of the
parish to local agencies like Project Hope for the Homeless and
Birthright
Although
we all put off thinking about end of life issues, it is important
to our families and loved ones that we address these issues.
It may seem overwhelming to take that first step but it is important
to consider four basic planning documents to get started: a
Last Will and Testament, Health Care Power of Attorney, Living
Will and a Financial Power of Attorney. You should discuss which
documents fit in with your estate plan with your attorney. If
you would like to include the St. Noel Endowment Fund in your
estate plan, please contact the St. Noel office at 440-946-0887.
