Dear Parishioner,

Having difficulty stretching your food and clothing dollars? Needing to cut back on your charitable donations because of the economy? We have an upcoming event that might help you address both concerns!

On Wednesday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m. our cluster Social Justice Committee comprised of parishioners from Divine Word and St. Noel is hosting “Simple Living for Generous Giving.” The evening will include prayerful reflection upon our resources, a free simple Lenten meal, a thrift store fashion show by children, youth and adults, as well as a short presentation on re-purposing household items. It’s our hope that this event will help us recall that everything we have is a gift from God, as well as show us ways to economize so we can still be generous to others.

If you plan to attend please sign-up on the kiosk by February 17th, indicating how many from your household will be present so we can adequately prepare for the meal. (We don’t want to have to put too much water in the soup at the last minute!) Thanks for carefully considering this invitation, and we hope to see you the evening of the 24th.

                                                        Alice Hinkel
