Dear Parishioner,

Each year our diocese holds the annual Catholic Charities Appeal. Catholic Charities allows us to follow the teachings of both the Old & New Testament to care for those who are in need. It supports 150 programs at 60 sites in northern Ohio helping over 300,000 people in need regardless of race, color, religion or disability.

This effort of our diocese allows us to provide immediate need to those in our own area. One hundred percent of the money raised stays in Northeast Ohio. With the struggling economy, the need is greater than ever.

As you leave church next weekend, you will receive a flyer outlining the 2010 Catholic Charities Appeal. On the weekend of February 13/14th, we will ask you to make your pledge to the Catholic Charities Appeal here in church. Bishop Lennon believes that this approach will be the most effective in reaching the parishioners who regularly support Catholic Charities.

Over the next few weeks I ask you to reflect on our common call to share the gifts we have received with those who have less or who are carrying heavy burdens. In this way you will be prepared to respond to the Catholic Charities Appeal on the weekend of February 13/14th.

                                                        Fr. George Smiga

Something to think about from the St. Noel Endowment Board

You are never too young to begin thinking about your estate plan. A simple Will, which names your executor and may dispense with a bond and waive appraisal of your personal effects, if you so choose, can make the probate process much easier for your family.  Contact your attorney or local bar association to begin the process.

ST. NOEL FELLOWSHIP – All meetings are held on Thursdays at 12:00 noon in the St. Noel Banquet Center Small Hall. On January 28th, we will have bingo, birthdays & anniversaries. Please bring something for the food pantry to this meeting. Everyone is welcome!

SEEDS OF LITERACY – The Sisters of St. Joseph are searching for volunteers to provide basic education and G.E.D. preparation to adults in Cuyahoga County. For more information please call Linda Worthington (216-661-7950 x15)
