Dear
Parishioner,
Since
2002 St. Noel together with several other parishes of our diocese
has begun to celebrate the Initiation Sacraments in the order of
the early church: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Because of
this reordering, the children who will receive Communion for the
first time this spring will also be confirmed at the same Liturgy.
Next
weekend we celebrate an important aspect of the preparation for
these sacraments with our young people and their families.
At
all Liturgies next weekend those preparing for Confirmation and
Communion will come forward and receive our prayers and support.
We will encourage those preparing for Confirmation and Eucharist
to participate in actions of love and service in the upcoming months
and to follow the example of those in our community who make that
love and service a regular part of their lives.
I
encourage you to congratulate those who come forward next Sunday
to indicate their desire to be fully inducted into our church, to
share with them what your faith means to you, and to assure them
of your prayers and support.
In this way we can as a community help prepare these children to
grow in their lives of service as Christ's disciples.
Fr. George Smiga
