Dear Parishioner,

As of the writing of this letter (August 12, 2003), it is our hope to be moving the parish offices into the upper level of the new wing on Thursday, August 21, 2003! Because of the move the parish offices will be closed on August 21, 2003. Our answering service will be able to reach us should there be any emergencies. We anticipate that the lower level of our new wing will be ready sometime the latter part of September.

Once again I would like to thank you for your generous support of our building project and ask for your ongoing prayers for the safety of all of our workers and for a smooth transition as we enter into the upcoming move.

Fr. George Smiga

SOCIAL JUSTICE GEM - JOURNEY OF HOPE - The Ohio Journey of Hope ... from Violence to Healing is a 17-day, educational speaking tour led by family members of murder victims who oppose the death penalty. These speakers share their stories about the process of healing through reconciliation. They call for alternatives to the death penalty and an end to the cycle of violence that capital punishment perpetuates in our society. The Ohio Journey of Hope is scheduled from September 26 - October 12, 2003. See the Social Concerns section of the kiosk for details regarding the various events scheduled across the state. Packets of this information can also be found in the kiosk.

MEDICAL INFORMATION ACT - As of April 14, 2003, the Federal law entitled the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act went into effect. This law seeks to safeguard the privacy of individuals regarding health care matters. In the past, most hospitals and health care institutions would contact a patient's parish when they were admitted. Unfortunately, hospitals are no longer able to provide this service. If you would like us to be present to you when you or someone in your family is hospitalized, it is now necessary for you to give us a call to notify us of your situation. In that way we hope to be able to meet your spiritual need for prayer, a pastoral visit, and the sacraments.
