Dear Parishioner,

During the course of our building project, several parishioners have inquired about the future of our outdoor chapel. As most of you know, the outdoor chapel was constructed by parishioners in the early days of St. Noel and has continued to be used by us for liturgies during the summer months. This is a practice which we intend to continue in the future. Once the building of the new wing is completed access to the outdoor chapel will be provided by a paved pathway which will begin from the new parking lot located at the North end of the new building. There will also be a paved pathway beginning from the church through the exit door located in the North transept next to the window of Christ's baptism.

Unfortunately during construction access to the chapel is not possible and we will have to wait until the new building is opened before we can begin to use the chapel again. Since the change in Mass schedule has resulted in more people attending each liturgy, it may not be possible to use the outdoor chapel for a weekend liturgy because of its limited seating. We do plan, however, to continue to use the chapel for weekday liturgies as well as other occasions, such as the liturgies we hold on national holidays. Moreover, the chapel will be open for your personal prayer and reflection whenever your schedule allows. If we are able to resolve the labor issues which have temporarily stopped work on our new wing, we still hope that our construction will be completed by the end of the summer. This may allow enough time to use the outdoor chapel for liturgy still this year before the snow flies.

A PRAYERFUL TOUR OF ST. NOEL CHURCH -

THE RECONCILIATION ROOM

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me." Psalm 51,10

The reconciliation room, located off the entrance to the chapel, offers space for those who desire private, face-to-face confession. The room, with its simple decoration and lighting, provides a prayerful atmosphere to celebrate the sacrament. Since the rite includes the reading of Scripture, the room contains a Bible as well as an icon of the risen Christ. The room also contains the presider's chair from the early days of the parish.

"God of forgiveness, your mercy and love are without limit. Help all who turn from You to find the path of reconciliation and healing."

SUMMER MASS SCHEDULE - Each year during the summer, our attendance at the 6:45 p.m. Mass on Wednesdays drops dramatically. Therefore, as last year, we are suspending Wednesday evening liturgies from June 4th through August 20th. We will, however, continue to have our monthly Mass with the Anointing of the Sick on the second Wednesday of each month (June 11th and July 9th but we will not have an Anointing of the Sick in the month of August).

HEALING MINISTRY - While on earth, Jesus healed all who sought His help. Now from heaven, He continues to send His healing love to help us in our hours of pain, loneliness, sorrow and illness. This Wednesday during the 6:45 p.m. liturgy, we celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Come and experience this healing love of Jesus. After Mass, prayer teams will be available to pray with you for your special needs. The heavier the cross, the more we need His help up Calvary's hill.

"LET THERE BE PEACE" - gathers today (Sunday) in the nursery 12:15 to 1:00 p.m.

SOCIAL JUSTICE GEM - "In all of his suffering as in all of his life and ministry, Jesus refused to defend himself with force or with violence. He endured violence and cruelty so that God's love might be fully manifest and the world might be reconciled to the One from whom it had become estranged. Even at his death Jesus cried out for forgiveness for those who were his executioners: 'Father, forgive them."'

THE BELLS OF SUMMER - St. Noel's music ministry will be adding a second handbell choir during the summer months and we are looking for ringers. No prior experience is necessary and the ability to read music is NOT required for this handbell choir. Adults, teens, and children ages 10 and up are all welcome to join. The choir will meet from June until September and will play at selected Masses over the course of the summer. Basic ringing is easy to learn (and fun too!). For more information, contact Marc Weagraff at 440-946-0887.

THE NURSERY IS STILL AVAILABLE! - The nursery, across the hall from the parish office, is still available during the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sundays--year round. All children, parishioners and guests, from infants up to four years old are welcome to stay in the supervised nursery. Please stop in and visit us during Sunday Mass. The nursery provides a safe place for the little ones to play so that parents can worship in a peaceful and quiet environment.

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! - Volunteers to staff the nursery are needed. If you have a child who regularly attends the nursery or wish to provide volunteer service to the nursery please contact the parish office at 440-946-0887. We ask volunteers to supervise the nursery one Sunday each month for approximately one hour. We aim to always have two adults and one youth staffing the nursery. We are also in need of youth volunteers. Young parishioners, early middle school age and up, are needed to help play with the children, read to them and offer assistance to the adult volunteers.

ROSARY - Join us Tuesday, June 17th from 7:00-7:45 p.m. in the church as we pray the Rosary. All are welcome to this quiet, reflective time in honor of Mary and her Son, Jesus.
