Parishioner, One
of the great gifts of living in this area is all the wonderful parks we have available
to us where we can rejoice in the beauty of God's creation. Our adult enrichment
committee would like to invite you to take in this beauty in a special way by
joining them for an afternoon of hiking and prayer in Chapin Forest on Sunday,
June 1, 2003. We will gather at the Hobart Road entrance at 12:30 p.m. and hike
to the Route 306 entrance, where a pizza lunch will await us in the pavilion.
(A freewill offering will be taken to cover expenses.) We will then return to
Hobart Road by a different trail. Most of the trail will be uphill/downhill but
our pace will be of two speeds: slow and slower! The round trip should take about
three or three and a half hours. Snacks will be provided for the journey. You
are asked to bring your own water. A notebook and pen might also be helpful for
those who like to record their reflections. A good walking shoe or boot will insure
a safe and pleasant afternoon. As we begin and along the way, we will provide
you with some brief reflections and suggestions for prayer. Why not take this
opportunity to appreciate both creation and Creator. A sign up sheet can be found
on the kiosk. You may call the parish office at 440-946-0887 with any questions.
See you on the trail! Alice

A
PRAYERFUL TOUR OF ST. NOEL CHURCH - THE
SANCTUARY LIGHT "No
one, after lighting a lamp, puts it under a bushel basket, but on the lamp stand,
and it gives light to all in the house." Matt 5,15 The sanctuary
lamp hangs in the entrance to the Blessed Sacrament chapel for all to see. Our
sanctuary lamp has been designed and hand fashioned out of wrought iron by Ken
Roby of Auburn, Ohio. The use of wrought iron continues the presence of humble
natural materials evidenced throughout our church. The sanctuary lamp leads the
way to the tabernacle and burns continuously as an indication of Christ's presence.
Whenever consecrated bread is reserved in the tabernacle, the sanctuary lamp is
to be burning. "God
of our journey, may the light of your presence burn brightly in all who walk the
path of discipleship." PSR
REGISTRATION - Families new to the parish or wishing to register a 1st - 6th
grader for the 2003-2004 PSR year may call Michelle at 440-946-1128 ext 37. Leave
your name, address and phone number and we will mail your registration packet.
ELIZABETH
MINISTRY/"ELIZABETH'S ROSES" - In observance of Mother's Day,
the Elizabeth Ministry will introduce "Elizabeth's Roses" as a unique
way to show respect for the dignity and worth of all life, as well as to identify,
pray for and support the needs of women and their families during childbearing
years. Following all Masses on this weekend, and continuing bi-monthly thereafter,
parishioners are invited to visit the display in the narthex to select a rose
indicating a special need. Rosebuds may be brought to the area of the church near
the carving of the Holy Family and placed in the vase provided. Pink rosebuds
honor those who are pregnant and for the unborn; red rosebuds celebrate
with families recent births or adoption; white rosebuds grieve with families
suffering a miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth, infant or child crisis or death;
yellow rosebuds remember those wanting to conceive or adopt. Each rosebud
will be accompanied by a tag with space to provide information relating to a particular
situation. Elizabeth ministers will pray daily for the families represented, and
if requested, will contact the family for ongoing support. Prayer cards will also
be available for personal meditation. For additional information on the Elizabeth
Ministry visit the parish website at www.stnoel.org and click on "Caring
Ministries." GARDENER'S
