Stewardship Snapshots - Usher/Greeter

The Usher/Greeter is someone who greets people as they arrive, helps in seating, takes up the collection, guides the Offertory and Communion processions, and passes out bulletins and other materials as requested.

Focus on Art Fifolt

Art Fifolt has been a parishioner at St. Noel since 1995.  It wasn't long after that, that Tom Stokes told him of a need for him with the greeters.  It sounded like a good way to get involved and meet people.

"People coming to the church need to be greeted at the door no matter what's going on in their lives. No matter what response you get you try to make them feel welcome, important and loved. And that they're a viable part of our community", said Art when asked what hope he had for this ministry.

What impact has this ministry had in your life? "Just being there at the church every Sunday is the highlight of my week. To be able to greet people makes me feel like a real part of the body of Christ. Especially the disabled. It is very important to me to help them to receive communion. Also I've developed a close relationship with the other greeters. I just love it. I may not be feeling well but I just get up and go. This is very important for me."
