Cement block foundations are laid for the chapel and church
additions. |
| The footers are poured for the chapel, church additions, and
the new wing. |
 |
 |
|
| Support walls are built. Previously underpinnings of Marianne's
and Anthony's offices were built on a slab. |
 |
 |
Supports needed for the lower level wall are constructed and
set in place. |
| Notice the large hydraulic hinged apparatus with the long
black flexible pouring tube. It is a concrete pump. |
 |
 |
The concrete pump can be guided into tight and difficult spaces
for the pour. |
| Notice the cement mixer. Allegra Cement's rotators are red,
white, and blue! Long red and white stripes cover the rotator
and the nose is blue starred. The mixers turn, soon to pour.
|
 |
 |
Look in the excavation and see the outline of the building
in the pattern of the cement footers. |
| Soon the cement block of the lower level will begin to rise.
After that will come the steel structure. |
 |
 |
In the excavation are rows of tall rods. See their orange
caps? These rods sit on footers. Later they will tie into the
building. The orange caps offer signals of their presence to
workers.
Walls will soon be rising here.

Lift and tote --- an easier method of moving objects from
here to there. The man in the Bobcat is extremely skillful at
this operation.
|
 |
 |
This CAT was once called a steam shovel. However, sans steam,
is now named Track Hoe. The operator is toting rubble from below
to a dumpster at the higher level.
|
This is an outdoor view of baptistery and aisle area walls.
Stone has been removed from the "aisle" section to
be replaced later. The present baptistery wall and aisle wall
will become a connected extension.
The foundation is in place and graded.

Here we see our two Hard Hat leaders:
Herman Hill - Project Supervisor
Tonya Dorsey - Project Manager

The Track Hoe is busy removing more rubble.
Notice the footers and rods. Also note that the elevator shaft
has been poured.

Notice that footers for the chapel, sacristy, and extended music
areas are in place.
